Citizens Advice Broxtowe
Citizens Advice Broxtowe provides local people with advice about the welfare system, and offers support with debt and finance – services which have seen a huge surge in demand since the start of the pandemic.
To respond to the growing demand, the team have rapidly transformed themselves into a virtual service, upskilling their brilliant volunteers on coronavirus-related queries, while ensuring all the while that the powerful, personal connection with people stays central to everything they do.
Funding from the NET Coronavirus Appeal through Nottinghamshire Community Foundation has enabled Citizens Advice Broxtowe to invest in vital safety equipment so that they can continue to offer face-to-face support to those facing extremely sensitive issues.
Between March 2020 and December 2020, the team provided more than 8000 individual services to more than 3,000 people, covering everything from housing to employment matters.
