Doorstep Homeless Families Project
Doorstep Homeless Families Project, based in Camden, offers a range of services to support homeless families and those living in temporary accommodation, to help them to get back onto their feet. The centre usually offers play and creative activities for children, after school clubs, free laundry facilities, classes and information sessions for adults, outings and activities during school holidays and more.
It has been a challenge, during lockdowns, to continue to provide all of their services. However, funding from the National Emergencies Trust through Co-op, has enabled the team to continue providing weekly food and care packages to homeless families living in hostel room accommodation, ensuring that they receive vital staples such as bread, milk, fruit and vegetables and hygiene items on a regular basis. It has also enabled the team to provide devices for children to support with homeschooling and providing emotional wellbeing support.
