Each Amazing Breath
Each Amazing Breath is a nonprofit organisation based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, but works across the whole of the UK. They specialise in the delivery of mindful-based resilience and capacity-building, working with students, staff, parents and families to help promote mental focus, strength and creativity in the face of challenge.
Their school resilience-building programme,Take Five, is designed to help students reduce stress to improve academic achievement and help with personal development. The 1 to 5 minute practices provide young people with many skills to manage nerves and build coping strategies so that they feel more safe and more in control. The Take Five skill-set fosters gentle, kind and daily self-care to help others from a place of safety, empathy and mutual respect.
Funding from the NET Coronavirus Appeal, through Nottinghamshire Community Foundation, has enabled Each Amazing Breath to respond to the massive need in 63 schools across Nottinghamshire, supporting the provision of three Take Five practice films a week for all participating schools so that children could practice in their homes to support them with their emotional health and wellbeing.
Helen Whitney, CEO of Each Amazing Breath CIC, said: “The funding has enabled us to provide ‘Virtual Take Five’, which helps children grow their ‘I can handle it’ capacities. We have had amazing feedback from children, staff and parents and carers, about the impact of ‘Virtual Take Five’ and they are very grateful we have been able to provide this.”
