Lambeth Action for Youth
Lambeth Action for Youth received funding from BTEG (Black Training and Enterprise Group), as part of the National Emergencies Trust’s partnership with Comic Relief. Lambeth Action for Youth provides young people with a range of activities including music, football, mentoring, and career support with the aim of diverting them from crime and social exclusion,
The grant has helped Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities hardest hit by Covid-19 deal with the fallout of unemployment, lack of opportunities, financial insecurity, and isolation among other issues. The funding has enabled Lambeth Action for Youth to provide young people with a range of weekly activities and workshops to engage in and offer them in a safe, caring and sociable environment with additional support to help them overcome the impact that COVID-19 has had on them. It has also enabled the staff at the charity to develop a stronger rapport with the young people which has given the staff the opportunity to explore any difficulties the young people are experiencing in their lives.
