Where your donation goes
Your donation funds support for survivors in the first days after an emergency, and through the months of recovery that follow. We work through local partners who know their communities and can reach people quickly.
Donations are converted as soon as they arrive. The Giving Block charges a fee of 3.90% on each donation, which covers that conversion. The rest reaches survivors through our appeals and our local partners.
How to donate
Use the donation form on this page. Choose your cryptocurrency, enter an amount, and add an email address if you would like a receipt. The form then generates a wallet address linked to ours.
The donation form needs your permission to load
Our cryptocurrency donation form is provided by The Giving Block. Because it is a third-party tool, we only load it once you choose to load it.
Donations below £10,000 go straight through the form. If you are planning to give £10,000 or more, email our fundraising team (opens in a new tab) first so we can handle your donation properly.
You can also give through our page on The Giving Block website (opens in a new tab).
What we accept
We accept more than 100 cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDC appear first on the donation form, and the rest are available from the dropdown. The full list sits on The Giving Block website (opens in a new tab).
Cryptocurrency donation FAQs
Yes. Tell us what you are planning before your event so we can support you. Our Fundraise for us page has the detail.
A cryptocurrency donation is a gift of an asset rather than a gift of money, so Gift Aid does not apply. We send a receipt if you give us an email address, and we cannot receipt an anonymous donation. Receipts show the value in US dollars, because our cryptocurrency donations are processed in that currency. Take your own tax advice on anything beyond that.
Yes. You can donate the proceeds from a sale through the form on this page. If you are an artist, athlete or public figure planning a sale and want to arrange this with us, email our fundraising team (opens in a new tab).
Yes. We carry out checks on donations, as every charity must, and we may report large or unverifiable donations to the Charity Commission in line with its guidance. If we were ever instructed to return an anonymous donation, we would return the value we received at the point it was converted.
No. Donations made through The Giving Block are final. We cannot refund a donation if you change your mind, send the wrong cryptocurrency or make a mistake. The Giving Block does not offer cryptocurrency, goods or services in return for a donation.
