Remembering the 7/7 London bombings, 20 years on
News and blogsMarking 20 years since the 7/7 London bombings, we remember the 52 lives lost and all those affected.

7 July 2025 marks 20 years since the devastating London bombings that took 52 lives and injured many more.
Four bombs were detonated across London’s public transport system during the morning rush hour, at Aldgate station, Edgware Road, King’s Cross/Russell Square, and Tavistock Square. It was a tragic day that changed countless lives and left a lasting mark on the capital, the nation and beyond.
This milestone anniversary will be a deeply emotional time for many of those affected: survivors, bereaved families, first responders, and all those whose lives were touched by the events of that day. Our thoughts are with them as they remember their loved ones and reflect on the memories they have carried with them for two decades.
A commemoration service, organised by the Mayor of London, is taking place on Monday 7 July. Attendance will be by invitation only for those directly affected. However, the service will also be livestreamed from 11:15am, with a formal start at 11:30am. You can watch the livestream on the Mayor of London’s website (opens in a new tab).
