Find information on where you can give and receive support
As people all over the UK feel the growing impacts of energy, food and fuel price rises, the National Emergencies Trust team and Trustees are keeping the situation under constant review to make sure we offer help in the right way.
At present we are not seeing the public propensity to give we would need to see to support the launch of our own emergency appeal, but we are supporting the work of our partners Comic Relief, Crowdfunder UK and the Community Foundations network who are all raising funds for those in need in their communities.
If you would like to make a donation to help people affected by the cost of living crisis, or if you are a charitable group seeking funding for your work, you can find out more about our partners’ campaigns below.
Comic Relief Winter Campaign
Comic Relief has launched an urgent appeal to help alleviate pressures to communities across the UK caused by the cost of living crisis. A minimum of £1 million will help organisations provide things like:
- Winter kits from warm clothing to food kits (ingredients, slow cookers, recipe cards)
- Specific items like electric blankets, hot water bottles etc
- Energy top-up cards and food vouchers
- Foodbanks and food kitchens where people can come together and eat in warm, safe spaces
- Help and advice on everything from benefits to mental health support

Crowdfunder Cost of Living Campaign
Crowdfunder’s Cost of Living Campaign is supporting national and grassroots charities and groups across the UK that are tackling the cost of living crisis. A number of corporate partners are offering match-funding to the Campaign so you can double your donation. Funds raised will help to provide emergency grants for those facing food and fuel poverty, as well as support with mental wellbeing, financial advice and more. There are lots of ways to get involved:
- Make a donation to charities on the front line supporting their communities
- If you’re a charity or community group, you can start raising funds today
- If you’re a business looking to support charities making a difference you can make a one-off donation, set up a live-match fund or encourage your employees to fundraise.

UK Community Foundations

We keep the cost of living crisis under constant review
In the coming months, everything from extreme Winter weather to government support measures could change the shape of the cost of living crisis so we will continue to monitor the situation closely in line with our four appeal activation criteria.
We are committed to offering support to those who need it, in the right way, ensuring we complement the efforts of charities and groups stepping up for their communities all over the UK.
