We are proud to support Figen Murray OBE and raise awareness of the incredible challenge she is currently undertaking; walking 200 miles from Manchester to London. Figen’s trek is in memory of her son Martyn Hett, who was killed in the Manchester Arena attack, and aims to introduce ‘Martyn’s Law’, legislation to tighten security at public venues.

Figen started the walk from the place in Manchester where her beloved son Martyn was killed. By ending the walk at 10 Downing Street, Figen is urging the government to introduce Martyn's Law, which would require venues to have counter-terrorism measures, helping to make the country safer for all.

Figen’s courage and determination is phenomenal, having spent years working tirelessly with security industry experts and campaigning for positive change.

Everyone at National Emergencies Trust fully supports her on this journey to ensure that Martyn’s Law is not just viable, but essential. Members of the Trust team will be joining Figen at Marble Arch on 22nd May, at which point she walks the final steps of the courageous journey.
