Ross Kemp has been appointed as the newest Ambassador of the National Emergencies Trust. He is an actor, documentary maker and one of the UK’s most recognised storytellers from crisis and conflict zones.

Kemp, whose award-winning documentaries have taken him from warzones to communities recovering from natural disasters, has spent much of his career shining a light on people facing extraordinary adversity. His first-hand experience of crisis situations and deep commitment to public service make him a powerful advocate for the charity’s work supporting UK communities affected by disaster.

Speaking about his new role, Ross Kemp said:

“I’ve seen first-hand the difference that swift, coordinated support can make in those moments. It’s not just about emergency aid. It’s about rebuilding hope, rebuilding lives and giving people a chance to carry on. That’s why I support the National Emergencies Trust. Because when the worst happens, we all need someone we can count on, and they’re that someone.”

A partner for communities before, during and after emergencies

The National Emergencies Trust works with local and national charities across the UK to make sure that when emergencies strike, from floods and storms to major incidents, support gets to those who need it most, fast.

Between emergency appeals, the Trust works closely with survivors to learn lessons from historic disasters, and bring about positive change. Projects such as Bee The Difference, with young Manchester Arena attack survivors, have received international recognition.

As an Ambassador, Kemp will help raise awareness of the vital role the charity plays in:

  • Fast emergency funding to support people’s urgent needs;
  • Long-term support by funding mental health services, trauma support and more;
  • More resilient communities, through survivor-led initiatives.

Ross Kemp supports Big Give Christmas Challenge

To mark the start of his ambassadorship, Kemp is lending his support to the charity’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, with a festive video (opens in a new tab) message encouraging the public to get involved.

From midday on 2 December to 9 December 2025, all donations made to the Trust through the Big Give page will be doubled at no extra cost, thanks to generous pledgers and match-funding partners.

Mhairi Sharp, CEO of the National Emergencies Trust said:

“Ross has spent years documenting the impact of emergencies on people and communities, often in some of the most challenging places in the world. His understanding of crises, and his compassion for those affected, make him an exceptional ambassador for our work. We’re honoured to welcome him to the National Emergencies Trust family.”
