This Small Charity Week, we’re celebrating brilliant grassroots charities around the UK who have used funding from our Local Action Fund with Crowdfunder UK to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

Today we are highlighting Fermanagh Women’s Aid (opens in a new tab), a charity based in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland who provide a range of services for women and children who are or have been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Fermanagh Women’s Aid used funding from the Local Action Fund for their Operation Empower Santa Appeal which supported more than 150 women and 120 children to enable them to purchase gifts and essential items they needed for their families.

Sinead Hoy, Triage Worker at Fermanagh Women’s Aid, said: “We at Fermanagh Women’s Aid, are always amazed by the generosity of our community, when so many families we support are in need; from knocking on our blue door with gifts and toys or providing monetary donations.”

“When we realised that any donations we raised through Crowdfunder could be match funded, we were absolutely delighted to avail of this opportunity to double the amazing fundraising efforts by our local community. Knowing how impactful this support will be on the women and children we support.”
