A message from our Interim Chief Executive, Louise Vaughan:

“Like others in the world, we are deeply concerned and saddened by the continuing humanitarian crisis worsened by the devastating conflict in Ukraine, and in other parts of the globe. Our thoughts are with all those affected.

“While the National Emergencies Trust is not planning to launch an appeal at this time, we will be doing all we can to ensure offers of funding reach the frontline organisations who are working tirelessly to support refugees fleeing persecution and arriving in the UK.

Refugee Crisis Appeal by The Refugee Council

2022 has seen record numbers of refugees across the world. The war in Ukraine has forced millions of people to flee their home country. People all over the world are leaving behind everything they know because of war, violence and environmental breakdown. Thousands of refugees are expected to arrive in the UK in the coming months to build a better future for themselves.

The Refugee Council has launched a Refugee Crisis Appeal (opens in a new tab) to support those currently fleeing Ukraine and all people whose lives and families are being torn apart by war, arriving in the UK.

The money raised will be targeted at expanding activities, including providing therapeutic support for those traumatised by their experiences, a telephone Infoline offering information and advice on practical and legal issues, and tailored support through local community partners. Donations will help adults and children to recover from trauma and rebuild their lives.

The Refugee Council has been working on the ground with refugees for over 70 years. Donate to the Refugee Council’s refugee crisis appeal (opens in a new tab) today. All donations up to £500,000 will be doubled by the Lund Trust.
